Change the IP Address of Litmus Edge Manager
You can change the IP address used to access Litmus Edge Manager to a new IP address.
If you have installed Litmus Edge Manager on ESXi and there is no IP address shown to access the interface, you must set a static IP address. See Set a Static IP Address to learn more.
You will first need to add the new IP address to the Interfaces section of the Network page.
To add a new IP address:
Navigate to Litmus Edge Manager Admin Console's Settings > Network > Interface tab, and click Update.
- Click Add new Address.
- Enter the following fields
- For the IPv4 Address field, enter the new IP address in CIDR notation that will be used to access Litmus Edge Manager.
- For the Gateway field, enter the IPv4 Address's respective Gateway value.
- For this example, 172.20.21.114/23 and 172.20.20.1 will be used.
- Click Update.
Important: Wait 15 minutes for the changes to be implemented before moving to the next step.
After waiting for the new IP address to be implemented, you can update the base domain name.
Note: The base domain name will be automatically updated to the new IP address if the following is true:
- The DHCP checkbox for the interface was not selected.
- The previous base domain name was an IP address rather than a domain name.
- The previous base domain name was not included as an IP address for the interface.
To change the base domain name:
- Navigate to Litmus Edge Manager Admin Console's Settings > Domain/SSL pane.
- For the Base Domain Name field, enter the IPv4 address from the previous step. You will need to reactivate any Litmus Edge devices previously activated by this Litmus Edge Manager.
- Click Save.
You will need to wait for the new base domain name to be implemented before update the Edge remote name.
To change the Edge remote name:
- Wait several minutes for the changes to be implemented. Then, open a new browser and access the Litmus Edge Manager Admin Console using the new IPv4 address (in this use case, it would be: 172.20.21.144:8446) from Step 1 and Step 2.
- Navigate to Settings > Domain/SSL.
- For the Edge Remote endpoint field, enter the IPv4 address from Step 1: Add a New IP Address to Interface. The Base Domain Name field and Edge Remote endpoint field should be identical.
- Click Save.
The final step is to remove the old IP address from the interface and disable DHCP.
To disable DHCP and remove an old IP address:
Navigate to Settings > Network > Interface tab and click Update.
Disable DHCP by unselecting the checkbox then click Update. This will set the interface from DHCP to Static.
Click Update again.
- Delete the old IPv4 address and then click Update.
