You can change the IP address used to access Litmus Edge Manager to a new IP address.

If you have installed Litmus Edge Manager on ESXi and there is no IP address shown to access the interface, you must set a static IP address. See [Set a Static IP Address](docId\:eu1MB0qeHF67YNC6i3ohh) to learn more.&#x20;

# Step 1: Add a New IP Address to Interface

You will first need to add the new IP address to the *Interfaces&#x20;*&#x73;ection of the *Network&#x20;*&#x70;age.&#x20;

**To add a new IP address:**

1. Navigate to Litmus Edge Manager Admin Console's **Settings > Network > Interface&#x20;**&#x74;ab, and click **Update**.

2. Click **Add new Address.**
3. Enter the following fields
   - For the *IPv4 Address* field, enter the **new IP address in CIDR notation&#x20;**&#x74;hat will be used to access Litmus Edge Manager.
   - For the *Gateway* field, enter the IPv4 Address's respective **Gateway** value.
   - For this example, `172.20.21.114/23` and `172.20.20.1` will be used.
4. Click **Update.&#x20;**

**Important**: Wait 15 minutes for the changes to be implemented before moving to the next step.&#x20;

# Step 2: Change Base Domain Name to the New IP Address

After waiting for the new IP address to be implemented, you can update the base domain name.&#x20;

**Note**: The base domain name will be automatically updated to the new IP address if the following is true:

- The DHCP checkbox for the interface was not selected.&#x20;
- The previous base domain name was an IP address rather than a domain name.&#x20;
- The previous base domain name was not included as an IP address for the interface.&#x20;

**To change the base domain name:&#x20;**

1. Navigate to Litmus Edge Manager Admin Console's **Settings&#x20;**> **Domain/SSL** pane.
2. For the *Base Domain Name* field, enter th&#x65;**&#x20;IPv4 address&#x20;**&#x66;rom the previous step. You will need to reactivate any Litmus Edge devices previously activated by this Litmus Edge Manager.
3. Click **Save**.

# Step 3: Change Edge Remote Name to the New IP Address

You will need to wait for the new base domain name to be implemented before update the Edge remote name.&#x20;

**To change the Edge remote name:&#x20;**

1. Wait several minutes for the changes to be implemented. Then, open a new browser and access the Litmus Edge Manager Admin Console using the new IPv4 address (in this use case, it would be: `172.20.21.144:8446`) from Step 1 and Step 2.
2. Navigate to **Settings&#x20;**> **Domain/SSL**.
3. For the *Edge Remote endpoint* field, enter th&#x65;**&#x20;IPv4 address&#x20;**&#x66;rom *Step 1: Add a New IP Address to Interface*.  The *Base Domain Name* field and *Edge Remote endpoint* field should be identical.
4. Click **Save**.&#x20;

# Step 4: Remove Old Address from Interface and Disable DHCP

The final step is to remove the old IP address from the interface and disable DHCP.&#x20;

**To disable DHCP and remove an old IP address:**

1. Navigate to **Settings > Network > Interface&#x20;**&#x74;ab and click **Update**.

2. Disable **DHCP** by unselecting the checkbox then click **Update**. This will set the interface from *DHCP* to *Static*.

3. Click **Update** again.

4. Delete the old IPv4 address and then click **Update**.
