To apply the Parameterized Template during activation, you need to create a basic activation configuration in LEM.

**To create a basic activation configuration with Parameterized Template:**

1. Navigate to **Activation **>** Configuration** and click **Add activation config** icon.

2. Start configuring the *Limits*, *Licenses*, and *License Type.* See *Steps 1-2 *of [Set Up an Activation Configuration](docId\:VbRFW-a0LLtuJmwdpuNNV) to learn more. 
3. To add a template, go to the *Templates *pane and click the **Add template **(**+**) icon.

4. The *Template Select *dialog box appears. Tick the **checkbox** for parameterized template and click **SELECT**.

5. When done configuring the *Activation Configuration*, click **Save**.

6. Once saved, the activation code will then be generated in the *Activation Code* field. This code and the *Activation URL* will be needed when activating a Litmus Edge instance.
