The Marketplace is a catalog repository that includes a default catalog. A catalog is a collection of Docker applications that can be configured as needed before being deployed to Litmus Edge instances.

You can deploy both public and private catalogs, and then deploy applications for various uses. The default catalog is preloaded with applications, such as visualization, user interface reporting, business intelligence, programming, server, and database tools.

From the Marketplace Catalog browser pane, you can add, edit, or delete marketplace catalogs. You can modify the default marketplace catalog, but not delete it.

Access to Marketplace depends on the Marketplace role that an administrator assigns to your user account:

- **Observer**: You can view catalogs, applications, releases, and registries. You cannot create, edit, import, export, or deploy.
- **Administrator**: You have full access, including managing shared registries.

If your account has neither role, you cannot open Marketplace. To assign roles, see Edit a user profile.

**Note:** When you upgrade from Litmus Edge Manager 2.x to 3.0.0, all existing users receive the administrator Marketplace role.

## Access marketplace

**To access the marketplace:**

1. Log in to Litmus Edge Manager.
2. Select a company.
   The *Projects&#x20;*&#x70;ane appears.
3. From the *Projects&#x20;*&#x70;ane, click a project or open the **Action menu** for a project and select **View**.&#x20;
   The *Dashboard&#x20;*&#x70;ane appears for the project.&#x20;

- **Add Catalog**
  Name has a maximum of 32 characters.
- **Change Catalog View**
  Update the catalog view from **Tile View** to **List View**.

## Synchronize catalogs

:::hint{type="info"}
**Note**: The Synchronization feature is available for Litmus Edge Manager 2.11.0 and later.
:::

When you add a new catalog, you can also customize it as a synchronized catalog. See [Synchronization](docId\:ER44LIKZUg7mKvX5UQp6D) for more details.

| -------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| \[1] **Toggle Synchronize** | You cannot change this setting after creating the catalog. |
| \[2] **Select Synchronize Role** | - **Primary: &#x20;**&#x59;ou may only have a maximum of one primary catalog.<br />- **Secondary** |

## Navigate the marketplace catalog

The Marketplace catalog has a left navigation that is always visible. It has three pages:

- **Catalogs**: View, add, edit, export, and delete catalogs.
- **Shared Registries**: Manage the registries that every catalog can use. See Shared registries.
- **Events**: View Marketplace events.

When you open a catalog, its **Applications**, **Registry**, and **Synchronization** pages appear as tabs at the top of the catalog pages.

## &#x20;Applications

For a marketplace catalog, after clicking the catalog card (See *View applications in this catalog&#x20;*&#x66;rom the previous section), you will be brought to the *Applications&#x20;*&#x70;ane for the selected marketplace catalog. Every catalog contains a collection of associated Docker applications. The default marketplace catalog contains the following ten Docker applications:

- Elasticsearch
- Grafana
- KDB
- Minio
- MongoDB
- Microsoft SQL for Linux
- MySQL
- PipelineDB
- PostgreSQL & Adminer
- Python

You can customize a catalog and its applications as needed.

You can add, modify, and delete applications for the currently selected catalog. The currently selected catalog’s Docker applications are displayed as below.
