Parameterize a template
Templates allow you to preconfigure an edge device's associated devices. Parameterizing a template allows you to specify variables for selected attributes within the template. Litmus Edge applies the variables at run time, so you can apply the same template to specific devices. You can:
- Convert an existing template to a parameterized template.
- Add variables and parameterize a template from the Templates pane.
- Preview the template and download the JSON to verify the variables on the template, and then upload the template.
Review the Apply parameterized template during activation how-to guide.
Before you begin
In For Templates, variables are reusable values. You can enter a different value for each device or site when you apply the template.
- Upload at least one template. See Load template from file in Templates.
- Determine which attributes in the selected template need a variable.
