New Features

The following are new features introduced in this software release:

Description

Marketplace:

  • When an application release containing the special variable named EDGE_API_TOKEN is deployed to a Litmus Edge instance, the Litmus Edge will generate a token (REST API Key) named MPC-APP and pass it to the application release's respective Docker container.

Integration:

  • Prometheus and a Prometheus Alert Manager is now supported.

Network:

  • Added a new DNS tab, enabling you to configure the DNS servers that Litmus Edge Manager connects to.

Enhancements and Features

The following features and enhancements are included in this software release:

Description

  • Litmus Edge Manager instances are now more compatible with Load Balancers. Previously certain Litmus Edge requests would be dropped.

Dashboard:

  • VM Time has been reworded to System Time.
  • A warning in Admin Console > Dashboard will be shown if System Time in and your Local time differs by 10 minutes.
  • Large numbers in Admin Console > Dashboard have been altered to be easier to read.

Licenses:

  • Whitespace is no longer allowed while entering a license key.
  • When Site license is chosen in Admin Console > Settings > Licenses, Available Licenses will no longer be displayed.

Edge Devices:

  • Redesigned the user interface for child DeviceHub devices.
  • When Forward Events is enabled, and the connection with a Litmus Edge is lost, a more detailed error message is now displayed.
  • Parameterized templates can now be successfully downloaded from Admin Console > Edge Devices > Edge Device Templates.
  • When searching for a password policy (in Admin Console > Edge Devices > Edge Password Policies) with a keyword, only matching policy names will be displayed. Previously, both matching policy names and matching policy descriptions were displayed.
  • When adding a new Edge Remote network (in Admin Console > Edge Devices > Edge Remote Networks), all IPv4 addresses that are in the format 0.xxx.xxx.xxx/8 are no longer allowed.

Applications:

  • When you include the EDGE_API_TOKEN parameter in an application release deployment, the parameter will be read only.

Software:

  • Applying software updates for Litmus Edge 3.5.0+ is now more reliable.

Company Settings:

  • When adding a new user, a warning will be displayed when SMTP is not set.

Data Lifecycle:

  • In cases where there are multiple versions of the same archived file, version numbers have been added to the file name.
  • Temporary files are now created in the /var/lib/lem/tmp directory.
  • Free diskspace space limit can now only be set between 0%-50%.

Network:

  • When DHCP is disabled, the interface will now require at least one IP address with a gateway.

Support:

  • Concurrent support bundle downloads are no longer allowed.
  • When support bundle generation fails, an error message will now be displayed.
  • Support bundles now also contain a configuration DB dump.
  • Network configuration MTU is now configurable.

Resolved Issues

The following issues that existed in one or more previous releases have been resolved:

Description

Login:

  • Fixed an issue where incorrect System Time prevented logins.

Dashboard:

  • Fixed an issue with Dashboard tagcount being inconsistent with the tag count in Edge Devices.
  • Fixed an issue where the pagination block in Admin Console > Dashboard was displaying even though there are no statistics to display.

Edge Devices:

  • Fixed an issue where edge device details were not displaying while license info was still loading.
  • When Metrics are not available, DeviceHub devices will now display Metrics are not available rather than incorrectly displaying them as offline.

Activation:

  • Fixed an issue with activation fails when the User Root CA certificate is not uploaded.

Templates:

  • Fixed an issue where parameterized templates cease being parameterized when the scope is edited

Alerts:

  • Fixed an issue with emails not being successfully sent.

Marketplace:

  • Fixed an issue where enum-type variables weren't displaying during application deployment.
  • Fixed an issue where the Litmus Edge Manager Site license with catalog feature did not enable the Marketplace feature and the Application page.

Data Lifecycle:

  • Fixed an issue where archived files may be overwritten.
  • Fixed an issue where Purge Policies weren't executing properly.
  • Fixed an issue where events data is not automatically purged after archiving.

Integration:

  • Fixed an issue with broken Tabix UI when accessing the UI from Litmus Edge Manager.

Network:

  • Under NTP Client Settings, when adding an incorrect NTP server, the error message now contains a description of the error.

Email:

  • Fixed an issue with Email Settings not being available for the Kubernetes version.

Licenses:

  • Fixed an issue where trial license in Admin Console > Settings > Licenses displayed incorrectly expired features.

Support:

  • Fixed an issue where support bundles couldn't be downloaded.

Security:

  • Resolved a vulnerability related to CVE-2022-23806.

Deprecated Components and Features

The following components/features will no longer be available:

Description

Company List:

  • When creating a new company, domain resolving validation has been removed.

Edge Devices:

  • The Remote tab has been removed.

Remote Access:

  • The ZeroTier tab has been removed.

Alerts:

  • Most System Triggers have been removed except for alert failure system trigger.
  • When adding/editing triggers, Data sources have been removed. They have been replaced with Metrics.

Network:

  • The Remote network tab (containing ZeroTier Network customization) in Admin Console > Settings has been removed.

Known Issues

The following issues are unresolved in this release:

Description

Templates:

  • When uploading an invalid Parameterized Template (.zip folder), it will yield a successful result message but won't add the template.

Alerts:

  • Metrics alerts for Connector online status may not operate properly.
