Step 3: Create an Activation Request in Litmus Edge
After creating an activation template on Litmus Edge Manager, you will switch to the corresponding Litmus Edge instance. In Litmus Edge, you will proceed to create an activation request.
You will need to set the endpoint that Litmus Edge will use to connect to Litmus Edge Manager.
To set the endpoint:
- In a separate browser tab, log in to the Litmus Edge instance you want to activate.
- From the navigation panel, select System > Device Management.
- In the Litmus Edge Manager Activation (or Cloud Management for Litmus Edge versions earlier than 3.11.0) section's Data & Device Management Endpoint field, click Edit. Paste the Activation URL value you copied from Litmus Edge Manager and then click Set. The Certificate dialog box appears.
- Verify that the certificate information is correct and acceptable, then click Proceed. The cloud activation URL updates.
Notes:
- The option to validate the connection is available for Litmus Edge version 3.11.0 and later.
- The validation for port 51820 Wireguard can't be validated, but ensure that this port is open on your network's firewall.
Once the endpoint is set, you will need to run a validation to ensure that the connection between Litmus Edge and Litmus Edge Manager is successful.
To validate the connection, click Validate. A dialog displays showing the validation is processing.
If the validation is successful, click Close and proceed to Step 2c.
If the validation is unsuccessful, review the error message and recommended steps, and then run the validation again. The Litmus Edge activation will not be successful without a valid connection.
After validating the connection, you will send the activation request to Litmus Edge Manager.
To create the activation in request.
- In the Activation Code field, paste the Activation Code value you copied from Litmus Edge Manager.
- Click Activate. The activation request is sent to Litmus Edge Manager and a notification box appears.
