Litmus Edge Can't Read Increased Disk Space on Virtual Machine

2min

When you add disk space (expand a hard drive) to a virtual machine (VM), you usually add unallocated space to the VM, which Litmus Edge can’t read. In that case, you would need to expand the pre-existing volume to contain both disk spaces (old and new) using any partitioning tool on the VM.

Solution

Note: Ensure that VM is powered off before proceeding and you have the necessary access to your hypervisor.

To add more disk space on the VM:

  1. Install gparted or any partitioning tool on the VM.
  2. Use the application to expand the pre-existing volume to contain both disk spaces.
  3. Complete the steps to install Litmus Edge with an ISO file. See ISO Installation on Hypervisors to learn more.
