When you add disk space (expand a hard drive) to a virtual machine (VM), you usually add unallocated space to the VM, which Litmus Edge can’t read. In that case, you would need to expand the pre-existing volume to contain both disk spaces (old and new) using any partitioning tool on the VM.

# Solution

:::hint{type="info"}
**Note: **Ensure that VM is powered off before proceeding and you have the necessary access to your hypervisor.
:::

**To add more disk space on the VM:**

1. Install [gparted](https://gparted.org/download.php) or any partitioning tool on the VM.
2. Use the application to expand the pre-existing volume to contain both disk spaces.
3. Complete the steps to install Litmus Edge with an ISO file. See [ISO Installation on Hypervisors](docId\:hfQ4XuEelug1sfF7UmV2G) to learn more.
