**Important**: You must have a valid license to enable this page. See [Licenses](docId\:vbAuxHNHFHDN2MK8-8zgQ).
:::

If you need to replace a damaged device, see [Replace a Damaged Device](docId\:eJHwBCENpSAQ6a0XkG2IA).

There are two ways to restore a device:

- Restore a device manually
- Back up a device to the Cloud

# Important

- You should regularly back up Litmus Edge. See [Back Up a Device](docId\:CvFMQxZRvcrROUA9avjSe).
- The backup can only be restored to the same device or to a replacement device.
- The backup can only be restored to a device with the same license key.
- The restore operation overwrites all configurations collected since the last backup.

# Restore a Device Manually

**To manually restore a device:**

1. In Litmus Edge, navigate to **System **> **Device Management**.
2. Click the **Backup/Restore** tab.
