The Base Conversion processor converts a number from one numeral system to another.

## Why use Base Conversion

Use this processor when a device or system reports values in a numeral system your downstream systems don't expect, for example converting a raw hexadecimal register value to decimal before it reaches a dashboard.

## How it works

The processor supports the following conversions:

- decimal -> binary
- decimal -> hexaDecimal
- decimal -> octaDecimal
- binary -> decimal
- octaDecimal -> decimal
- hexaDecimal -> decimal

For example, converting the decimal value `12` to hexaDecimal returns `c`, and converting it to binary returns `1100`.

When converting from binary, octaDecimal, or hexaDecimal to decimal, the input must be a string, and that string must be in a field named `value`.

## Parameters

* hexaDecimal -> decimal. |
| Pass Through Value | Determines whether the processor's output is the converted value or the original unchanged input value. |
