IT Hub
The IT Hub connects Analytics flows to the enterprise IT systems that run a manufacturing business, such as SAP, SQL databases, and REST services. It lets a flow send a command to one of these systems through a Cloud Connector and bring the result back into the flow, so operational data at the edge can drive and draw on business systems in real time.
What you can do with the IT Hub
The IT Hub runs a command against a Cloud Connector instance and returns the result to the flow. Common patterns for manufacturing and industrial teams include:
- Enrich edge data with business context from SAP. Look up a work order, material master, or production order in SAP and attach it to a machine reading, so downstream logic and dashboards speak in business terms rather than raw tags.
- Read from and write to SQL databases. Query a historian, quality, or manufacturing execution system (MES) database for setpoints, recipes, or limits, and write results such as counts, defects, or cycle times back to a plant database.
- Call REST services. Send a request to an internal or cloud REST API to fetch reference data, raise a ticket, or push a computed result to another system.
Because the IT Hub runs inside an Analytics flow, you can combine these calls with the logic in other processors. For example, a flow can detect a condition at the edge, query SAP for the affected order, and write an entry to a SQL database, all in one flow.
