A Marketplace catalog contains an inventory of available applications that can be installed with a script. The initial Litmus Edge environment includes a default public Marketplace Catalog.

To review use cases for specific applications, see [Applications Guides](docId:1PLxNGAgCPRclGZ6enlPO).

# Before You Begin

Before you begin, consider the following:

- You can add a public catalog from Litmus Edge Manager. See the *Push Marketplace catalogs to Edge devices* section of [Manage Applications](docId:1cjuL2kjJIQEBN2kVHjp6).
- You can add a private catalog from which you want to deploy an application. See [Add a Marketplace Catalog](docId\:W6ejBpZDooJfxqbAWPdCF) for more information.
- For a Private Marketplace Catalog, make sure you create a Docker image and add a Docker registry. See [Create a Docker Image to Deploy to Your Private Repository](docId\:k-60fe8tPYOBJAXGcbde_) and [Add a Registry](docId\:H6LinW0v5SEtAbyCXrWUO) for more information.
- To access data from the application, it must be running on the same network as the Litmus Edge device.

**To deploy an application:**

1. Navigate to **Applications **> **Marketplace**.
 The *Marketplace *pane appears.
2. To filter the applications that display, in **Filter** select a Marketplace catalog from the **Catalog** list and a category from the Category list.
The selected Marketplace displays the applications associated with the marketplace.

3. Click an application tile.
4. In the dialog that opens, select a script version** **from the **Installation script version** list, as shown in this example.

5. Enter a name and complete any applicable parameters for the application and click **Close**.
 - A name for the incoming Docker container
 - (If applicable) A number for the port. A number cannot be used if it’s already in use by another Docker container.
 - Provide values for applicable parameters. For others, select a value from the drop-down list. These parameters will be passed as runtime variables to the respective Docker container.
