Create a Network

You can add networks from the Networks pane of the Applications module. You can then use these networks to run specific application containers.

Create a Network

To add a network:

  1. Navigate to Applications Networks. The Networks pane appears.
  2. Click the Create a Network icon. The Create Network dialog box appears.

  3. Enter a name for the network in the Name field.

Step 1: Network Configuration

Enter the details in the Network configuration section.

  • Driver: Use the drop-down list to select a network type. The options are: bridge, ipvlan, or macvlan.
  • Driver Options (Optional): Click Driver Options, enter key-value values in the Key and Value fields, and click Add. Repeat adding key-value pairs as needed.

Step 2: IPV4 Network Configuration

Enter the details in the IPV4 Network configuration section.

  • Subnet: Enter a subnet value.
  • Gateway: Enter the gateway address.
  • IP Range: Enter the network's IP range.
  • Add Excluded IP (Optional): Click Add Excluded IP, enter key-value values in the Key and Value fields, and click Add. Repeat adding key-value pairs as needed.

Note: If you enter no information in this section, the Docker assigns the IPv4 range automatically.

Step 3: Define IPV6 Network Configuration

Enter the details in the IPV6 Network configuration section.

  • Subnet: Enter a subnet value.
  • Gateway: Enter the gateway address.
  • IP Range: Enter the network's IP range.
  • Add Excluded IP (Optional): Click Add Excluded IP, enter key-value values in the Key and Value fields, and click Add. Repeat adding key-value pairs as needed.

Step 4: Advanced Configuration

Enter the details in the Advanced configuration section.

  • Isolated network: Select the check box to restrict containers created on this network to this network only, with no inbound or outbound connectivity.
  • Enable manual container attachment: Select the check box to enable users to attach the network to running containers.
  • Labels (Optional): Click Labels, enter key-value values in the Key and Value fields, and click Add. Repeat adding key-value pairs as needed.

When done defining the network configuration, click Create.
