Install an Identity Certificate

2min

If you need to authenticate a connection between Litmus Edge and another service, you may need to install an identity certificate.

You can install an identity certificate by navigating to System > Network > Certificates and reviewing the Identity section.

Before You Begin

Submit the certificate signing request in Litmus Edge to a certificate authority so that you can receive the corresponding identity certificate. Make sure that the file uses X509 encoding. Follow up with your IT department for support. See Manage Certificate Signing Requests for details.

Install an Identity Certificate

To install an identity certificate:

  1. Navigate to System Network.
  2. Click the Certificates tab.
  3. Click the Install certificate icon. The Install Identity Certificates dialog box appears.

  4. (Optional) Paste the CA certificate from the Certificate Authority in the CA Chain field. To get this parameter, follow up with your IT department. Make sure that X509 encoding is used. This is an ordered list of certificates containing an end-user subscriber certificate and intermediate certificates (that represents the intermediate CA). This enables the receiver to verify that the sender and all intermediate certificates are trustworthy and confirms the ownership of the public key.
  5. Paste the SSL certificate in the Identity Certificate field. An SSL certificate contains information of the owner/organization, such as its location, public key, and validity dates. The client makes sure that a valid certificate authority (CA) has validated the certificate.
  6. Click Install.

You can verify the identity certificate was successfully installed by the green checkmark under the valid column for the certificate.
