To set up and configure this device in Litmus Edge, you will need to do the following:
- Step 1: Set up and Configure the PLC Device
- Step 2: Set up the PLC Device in Litmus Edge DeviceHub
- Step 3: Configure the List of Registers
If the device is configured for Ethernet access, find its network parameters. Otherwise, follow the steps below.
To configure your device:
Note down the following information and refer to it when needed. Device: Siemens S7 CPU1212C AC/DC/RLY Communication I/F: Profitnet. Refer to the following figure.
Launch the Primary Setup Tool.
Set up the PG/PC Interface using either software or the PC control panel.
Select the network adapter, making sure the PC and the device are on the same subnet.
Browse the Siemens devices on the network, select the device, and then set up the network parameters.
Launch the TIA Portal v14 software and create a project file with the correct device model and version.
Click the Accessible devices icon and search for the devices in the same subnet segment.
Right-click the device, and select Properties.
Set up the network parameters. The following settings are applicable for Siemens S7-1200 and Siemens S7-1500 only. The changes must be made when the TIA Portal is offline, and then downloaded to the PLC.
Click Protection & Security > Connection mechanisms.
In order to read the data block data, uncheck the Optimized block access option.
Select Profinet Interface > Advanced Options > Port and set the Partner port to Any Partner.

You have the option of exporting tags as a PDF file.
To export tags with Simatic Manager:
- Start Simatic Manager and open the project file.
Right-click the target Data Block, and then select Print > Object Contents.
- Save the contents of the data block as a PDF file.
To export tags with the TIA Portal:
- Launch the TIA Portal v14 software and open the project file.
- Open the Data Block you want to export.
From the toolbar, select Project > Print.
- Save the contents of the data block as a PDF file.
