Siemens Logo Ethernet
Review the following information for setting up and configuring the Siemens Logo Ethernet driver. The driver communicates with Siemens LOGO! logic modules over Ethernet.
Note: This driver is experimental. Some features might not work as expected.

To set up and configure this device in Litmus Edge (LE), do the following:
- Step 1: Set up and configure the PLC device
- Step 2: Set up the PLC device in Litmus Edge DeviceHub
- Step 3: Configure the list of registers
Step 1: Set up and configure the PLC device
If the device is configured for Ethernet access, find its network parameters. Otherwise, follow the steps below.
To configure your device:
- Note down the following information and refer to it when needed.
- Device: LOGO BM 24CE
- Communication I/F: Ethernet. Refer to the following figure.

- Set up the IP address in ADMIN mode. The default password to switch from Operator mode is LOGO.
- Select Network > IP address.

- Enter the IP address for your device, for example 192.168.0.110.
- Log in to the web server to configure the device. The default password is LOGO.
- Launch the LOGO! Soft Comfort v1.08.02 software and select Tools > Transfer > Logo > PC.
- Enter the IP address in the Target IP Address field, and then click OK.
- Select Tools > Ethernet connection.
- In the Configure Ethernet Connection dialog box, click Ethernet Connectors.
- In the Local Properties (Server) section, select Accept all connection results.
- In the Remote Properties (Client) section, enter the TSAP in the TSAP field. The local TSAP default is 20.00. This configuration uses a remote TSAP of 21.00.
- Click OK.
Step 2: Set up the PLC device in Litmus Edge DeviceHub
Configure the following parameters when you Connect a DeviceConnect a Device with this driver. Update default values to the specific setup of your device.
Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
Type | Siemens |
Driver | Siemens Logo Ethernet |
NetworkAddress | The IP address of the device you defined in Step 1. Default value 192.168.0.1 |
NetworkPort | The TCP port of the device. Enter a value from 0 to 65535. Default value 102 |
LocalTSAP | The local TSAP, in hexadecimal. Must match the connection configured in LOGO! Soft Comfort. Default value 1000 |
RemoteTSAP | The remote TSAP, in hexadecimal. Must match the connection configured in LOGO! Soft Comfort. Default value 0200 |
The following parameter is under Advanced Parameters.
Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
ReadTimeout | How long the driver waits for a response, in milliseconds. Enter a value from 10 to 10000. Default value 5000 |
For the Meta Data, Status Register, and Optional Settings options, see Connect a DeviceConnect a Device.
Step 3: Configure the list of registers
When you Add a TagAdd a Tag to the connected device, see the following register table and tag parameters. This driver does not support browsing tags.

Register table
All addresses are decimal. V, VB, VW, and VD address V memory (DB1) by byte. For V, the address is the byte number followed by a one-digit bit number, from 0 to 7. For example, V address 1005 is bit 5 of byte 100.
For RTC, the address selects the clock field: 1 year, 2 month, 3 day, 4 hour, 5 minute, 6 second, and 7 day of the week.
Name | Value Types | Access Type | Address Format | Min Address | Max Address | Description |

I | bool | R/O | DD | 1 | 64 | Digital inputs |
Q | bool | R/W | DD | 1 | 64 | Digital outputs |
M | bool | R/W | DDD | 1 | 112 | Marker (flag) bits |
NI | bool | R/W | DDD | 1 | 128 | Network digital inputs |
NQ | bool | R/W | DDD | 1 | 128 | Network digital outputs |
V | bool | R/W | DDDDd | 0 | 14697 | V memory bit (DB1, byte and bit) |
AI | word | R/O | DD | 1 | 16 | Analog inputs |
AQ | word | R/W | DD | 1 | 16 | Analog outputs |
AM | word | R/W | DD | 1 | 64 | Analog marker words |
NAI | word | R/W | DD | 1 | 64 | Network analog inputs |
NAQ | word | R/W | DD | 1 | 32 | Network analog outputs |
VB | byte | R/W | DDDD | 0 | 1469 | V memory bytes (DB1) |
VW | word | R/W | DDDD | 0 | 1468 | V memory words (DB1) |
VD | dword | R/W | DDDD | 0 | 1466 | V memory double words (DB1) |
RTC | word | R/W | D | 1 | 7 | Real-time clock |
Tag parameters
- Name: Select a register name from the drop-down list. The available options depend on the names in the register table.
- Value Type: Select a data type from the drop-down list. The available options depend on the register name selected.
- Address: Enter the register address in decimal format, within the min and max range in the register table. Omit leading zeros. For V, add the one-digit bit number at the end.
- Count: Enter the number of values to read, starting at the configured address. A count higher than 1 returns an array of values. Default value 1
- PollingInterval: Enter how often the tag polls for data, in seconds. Enter 0 to disable polling. Default value 1
- Tag Name: Enter a name for the tag.
- Description (Optional): Enter a description for the tag.
- Tag Formula: Enter a formula for the tag to process the generated data. You can use two variables: value (current tag value) and timestamp (current tag UNIX time in milliseconds). The following math functions are available:
- sin
- cos
- sqrt
- tan
- power: power(x) performs the operation 10^x.
- log: log(x) is the natural logarithm (the logarithm is in base e).
- exp: exp(x) performs the operation e^x.
- Only Publish on Change of Value: Select the checkbox to publish NATS messages only when the value parameter changes. Change of Value only applies to boolean, numeric (such as int or float), and simple string data types. It does not apply to complex types, such as JSON or array. Poll-once topics are not affected by Change of Value settings, and still receive a single message.
- Meta Data: Define key-value pairs to add to the device output payload.
Note: If you use special characters in metadata key names, the special characters are replaced with underscore characters in the payload. This can cause two key names to be combined into one. For example, configuring the key names a**b and a&&b creates only one key name (a__b).
