The Rounding processor rounds a number to a specified number of decimal digits, using the rounding method you choose.

## Why use Rounding

Use this processor to simplify a number for display or downstream processing while keeping it close to its original value, for example, rounding a sensor reading to two decimal places before it reaches a dashboard.

## How it works

Set **Digits** to the number of decimal places to keep. For example, with **Digits** set to `2`, a result might be `10.22` or `10.44`, but not `10.556`, since only two decimal places are kept. Enter `0` to drop all decimal places and return an integer.

**Method** determines how the processor rounds:

- **RoundNearest** rounds to the nearest value, for example, `10.6` becomes `11` and `10.1` becomes `10`.
- **RoundUp** always rounds up to the next value, for example, both `10.6` and `10.1` become `11`.
- **RoundDown** always rounds down to the next value, for example, both `10.6` and `10.1` become `10`.
- **RoundEven** rounds to the nearest integer, rounding exact ties to the nearest even number. **Digits** doesn't apply to this method.

## Parameters

| **Parameter** | **Details** |
| ------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Digits | The number of decimal places to round to. Enter `0` to return an integer. Doesn't apply when **Method** is RoundEven. |
| Method | The rounding method to use: RoundNearest, RoundUp, RoundDown, or RoundEven. |
| Pass Through Value | Determines whether the processor's output is the rounded value or the original unchanged input value. |
