The Simple Window processor takes a single input value and outputs a moving window of recent values, using a first-in-first-out (FIFO) algorithm.

## Why use Simple Window

Use this processor when a downstream processor or model needs the raw window of recent values itself, rather than a single statistic calculated from it, for example, feeding the last several readings into a custom calculation.

## How it works

The processor stores incoming values in a window sized to **Window Size**, using a FIFO algorithm: once the window is full, each new value pushes out the oldest one. Use **Order** to control whether the output window lists values oldest to newest or newest to oldest, and **Value Type** to specify the incoming value's data type.

## Parameters

| **Parameter** | **Details** |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Value Type | The data type of the incoming value. |
| Order | Whether values appear in the output window ordered oldest to newest, or newest to oldest. |
| Window Size | The window in which values are observed. |
| Pass Through Value | Determines whether the processor's output is the windowed values or the original unchanged input value. |
