VirtualBox only Showing 32-bit and no 64-bit Versions
When creating a new VirtualBox, you should see options for 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Your host operating system needs 64-bit to run a guest operating system in VirtualBox.
There is an issue when installing Litmus Edge on a VirtualBox for Windows systems that have upgraded the Windows OS.
If you only see 32-bit versions when selecting the type of operating system, Windows OS has upgraded and turned on Memory Integrity for security reasons.
You must have administrative access to the security in Windows to turn this off.
There are two solutions to fix the Memory Integrity issue:
Complete these steps to repair the version of VirtualBox you currently have.
To repair the VirtualBox installation:
- Download the same version of the installer file that you currently have from the VirtualBox website.
- Right-click the installer file used to install VirtualBox and select Run as administrator.
- When the Windows User Account Control window appears, click Yes. You may need to enter an administrator password in the User Account Control window. A setup window appears.
- Click Next.
Click the Repair icon.
- Click Repair. VirtualBox begins the repair process.
- When the repair process is finished, click Finish. VirtualBox may ask you to restart your PC.
Complete these steps to disable memory integrity setting in Windows 10.
To disable memory integrity:
Open Windows Security.
Click Device Security.
From the Core isolation section, click Core isolation details.
- From the Memory Integrity section, click the Off toggle. You may need to restart your PC.
