# Installing the Litmus Access Processors into Apache NiFi

## Requirements

The Litmus Edge Processors available via the Litmus Central Portal provide a compressed zip or tar.gz file. Both should contain the following .nar files:

- `nifi-nats-processor-nar-{version}.nar`
- `nifi-nats-service-api-nar-{version}.nar`
- `nifi-nats-service-nar-{version}.nar`

Ensure you have either and continue to the installation steps below.

## Installation Steps

1. Extract the .zip or .tar.gz file and verify you have the expected .nar files.
2. Stop Apache NiFi
3. Copy all of the extract .nar files into the lib folder of your Apache Nifi Installation

# How to send data from Apache Nifi to Litmus Edge

This section will provide instructions on how to setup the DataHubPublish processor for Apache Nifi to send data to Litmus Edge.

## Requirements

To allow that data can be published to Litmus Edge from Apache Nifi using Litmus Access, three requirements have to be met beforehand.

1. The Litmus Access Processors for Apache Nifi have to be imported
2. An Access Account with configured read and write topics has to be created

How to add topics to an Litmus Access Account is described in the Litmus [Documentation ](https://docs.litmus.io/LitmusEdge/UserGuide/current-le/Content/ED-UserGuide/t-ed-add-topics.htm)for Access.

## Step by Step guide to publish data to Litmus Edge via Apache Nifi

This guide will provide instructions on how to create a DataHubPublish Processor in Apache Nifi to publish data to Litmus Edge using Litmus Access.
This chapter will not provide instructions on how to build an Apache Nifi flow, as is it expected that user are familiar with this process. Also does Apache Nifi provide well [documented ](https://nifi.apache.org/docs/nifi-docs/html/user-guide.html#building-dataflow)instruction onto this aspect.

**Step 1:**
Log on to Apache Nifi to be able to create a new Nifi Flow.

**Step 24:**
The processor is now ready and can be used to build the rest of the flow.

In Apache Nifi, processors are linked via a connection. How to setup and configure these connections can be found in the Apache Nifi [documentation](https://nifi.apache.org/docs/nifi-docs/html/user-guide.html#Connecting_Components).

This processor will most of the time be the last processor in a flow as it does publish data.

If part of a flow, the triangle icon will change to a red square.
