You can sign up for Litmus Central Portal by creating an account from the Central Portal website. 

1. Complete the fields and click **Register**. 
2. Once you register a verification will be sent to you. If you don't see the email in your inbox check your spam folder. If you do not find it there contact your IT-department for futher assistance. Open the email and click **Activate Account **or follow the provided link 

# Sign up for Litmus Central Portal

**To sign up for Litmus Central Portal:**

1. In a browser window, visit [portal.litmus.io](https://portal.litmus.io/). 
2. If you do not have an account you will be automatically redirected to the Litmus sign-in portal.

3. From the login page, click **Sign up**.

4. Complete the fields and click **Sign Up **or create an account via your Google or Microsoft account.
   Once you sign up an activation email will be sent to your email after a few seconds. If you do not see the email check your spam folder, if it is not their contact your IT department.

5. **Activate your account**. 
   Once you have opened the activation email from **hello\@notification.litmus.io **press the **Activate account **button or follow the provided link. This will activate your account and redirect you back to the login page.

# Login to your Account

## Before you begin: 

Ensure you have correctly followed the steps outlined above. If you see an error that the account does not exist repeat the steps outlined above.

1. **Login to your account**
   If this is your first log in you will need to use the email verification method outlined below, otherwise your can log in with whichever method you have configured for your account.

   Provide the email associated with your account and press **Continue**

2. **Get your verification code from your email.**
   A verification email from** hello\@notifications.litmus.io **will be sent to your email after a few seconds. Copy the code to your clipboard. 

   If you do not see the email check your spam folder, if it is not there reach out to your IT department.

3. **Use the verification code to login**
   Paste or type the verification code from the email into the login prompt menu. This will complete the login.

4. **Proceed to app or set-up alternative verification methods.**
   If the login attempt is successful you will be prompted to set up passkeys for alternate login or just continue to app. This prompt can be disabled by either checking **Don't ask me again** as true before continuing to the app, or by configuring passkeys.

## Setup Passkeys

### Before you begin: 

Passkeys will depend on your browser/operating system.

### Google Chrome

1. **Create passkey for your account**
   After successfully logging in, press the **Use passkeys** menu to start creating passkeys for your account. Ensure you are logging in via a Google Chrome browser.

2. **Authorize passkeys** **for your account**
   Google chrome will create a window prompt asking to authorize the creation of a passkey for your browser. Press **Create **or **Save another way**

3. **Create a unique PIN for the account**
   You need to create a recovery PIN for your passkey to access it on other browsers or devices, or if the passkey is ever lost.
